Finding the Right Solution for Missing Teeth

Are you seeking a solution to replace missing teeth? For centuries, people just like you have trusted dentures as an effective tooth replacement option.

Types of Dentures

Dentures are removable devices designed to replace some or all of your natural teeth. There are two primary types:

  • Conventional Dentures: These are fitted after your gums and jawbone have fully healed from tooth extractions. This ensures a comfortable and secure fit.
  • Immediate Dentures: These are placed in your mouth right after tooth extraction. While they may require several adjustments as your gums and jaw heal, they offer the benefit of providing immediate restoration of your smile.
  • Partial Dentures: Ideal for those missing only some teeth, partials work similarly to a bridge but are removable, allowing for easier cleaning and maintenance.

If you're considering dentures, our team is here to help you find the best solution for your needs!

Restores Functionality

Dentures and partial dentures help restore the ability to chew and speak comfortably. With missing teeth, everyday tasks like eating and talking can become challenging, but dentures allow you to regain these basic functions, making it easier to enjoy your favourite foods and communicate clearly.

Enhanced Aesthetic Appearance

Missing teeth can affect your smile and overall appearance. Dentures provide a natural-looking solution, filling gaps and improving the symmetry of your face. With dentures, you can smile with confidence, knowing that your teeth look great.

Support for Oral Health

Dentures help prevent further oral health issues associated with tooth loss. They support the remaining teeth, preventing them from shifting, and can also reduce the risk of bone loss in the jaw. Partial dentures, in particular, help maintain proper alignment, contributing to better long-term oral health.

“Have had the misfortune of seeing many dentists, and Peninsula has to be one of, if not the best practice I've dealt with. Dr Mostafa is outstanding at what he does. Would highly recommend.”

Getting Started with Dentures

When you first receive your dentures, you may need to wear them continuously, even while sleeping. This helps your dentist identify any areas that need adjustment for comfort or to alleviate irritation. Once your dentures are properly fitted to your jaw, you can remove them at night.

Although dentures are not natural teeth, it's essential to care for them as if they were. Be sure to brush your dentures regularly to remove food particles. Whenever you take them out, place your dentures in lukewarm water or a denture-cleaning solution. Avoid using hot water, as it can warp the material.

It's normal for your mouth to take some time to adjust to the shape of your new dentures. Initially, they may feel awkward or bulky, but you will become accustomed to wearing them with time.
