Crowns & Bridges

Crowns and bridges are effective dental restorations designed to correct various dental issues while protecting and strengthening your teeth.

A dental crown is a custom-made cap that fits over a damaged tooth, restoring its function and providing added strength and support.

Bridges are used to replace missing teeth, filling gaps to complete your smile. Typically made from porcelain, crowns and bridges offer a natural appearance and durability.

Everyone deserves a healthy, complete smile, and bridges and crowns can help you achieve that. Thanks to advanced techniques and treatments, the process of placing crowns and bridges has become easier and more effective than ever.

Restores Functionality

Crowns and bridges effectively restore the ability to chew and speak properly, ensuring you can enjoy your favourite foods and communicate confidently.

Enhances Aesthetic Appeal

These restorations are designed to blend seamlessly with your natural teeth, improving your smile and boosting your self-esteem.

Durability and Longevity

Made from high-quality materials, crowns and bridges are built to last, providing a long-term solution for damaged or missing teeth with proper care.

When Are Dental Crowns and Bridges Used?

Dental Crowns

Dental crowns have many applications and can be used to correct a number of problems:

  • Severely decayed teeth

  • Teeth weakened by root canal treatment

  • Fractured or broken teeth

  • Damaged fillings

  • Large, unattractive fillings

Dental Bridges

A dental bridge is designed to fill the gap left by a missing tooth. Typically crafted as a single unit, it is anchored in place by crowns on the adjacent teeth.

A dental bridge not only enhances the appearance of your smile but also helps prevent surrounding teeth from shifting into the empty space left by the missing tooth.

“Have had the misfortune of seeing many dentists, and Peninsula has to be one of, if not the best practice I've dealt with. Dr Mostafa is outstanding at what he does. Would highly recommend.”

Dental Crowns and Bridges: The Process

Typically, placing a dental crown or bridge involves two to three visits to our clinic.

1. Preparation and Impressions: During your first visit, we prepare your natural tooth for restoration and take impressions of your teeth to ensure the restoration fits perfectly.

2. Creating Your Restoration: These impressions are sent to a specialised dental lab, where your permanent crown or bridge is crafted. This process usually takes about two weeks. Before you leave, we will fit you with a temporary crown or bridge to wear while your custom restoration is made.

3. Final Fitting: We'll schedule a follow-up appointment once your restoration is ready. During this visit, we check the fit and make any necessary adjustments. Finally, your new crown or bridge is permanently cemented into place.

Before you leave, we'll provide care instructions for your new restoration. While it will be fully functional, it's essential to take special care to avoid damage and the need for replacement. With proper oral hygiene and regular dental cleanings, your new restoration can last for many years.
