Dr Mwaffak Rabih, DDS
Dentist
Dr. Mwaffak Rabih has been caring for smiles in Wellington since 2001. He graduated in 1991 and made the move to New Zealand in 1999, later completing the NZDREX program at the University of Otago. He's a proud member of the New Zealand Dental Association (NZDA) and is also registered to practice in Australia (AHPRA). In 2003, he took a big step and founded Peninsula Dental Centre from the ground up.
Passionate about helping people feel confident in their smiles, Dr. Rabih enjoys all aspects of dentistry, from Restorative and Cosmetic Dentistry to Orthodontics, Endodontics, and Surgery. He's dedicated to making every visit a positive and comfortable experience for his patients.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Rabih loves staying active—whether it's playing football or working on his golf swing. He also enjoys spending time with family and friends and unwinding in the garden, which has become one of his favourite ways to relax.

My name is Yazan El Fares, and I am an Oral Health Therapist dedicated to helping patients achieve and maintain healthy smiles for life.
Originally from Syria, I moved to New Zealand in 2016, where I completed my secondary education at Mana College in Porirua before graduating with a Bachelor of Oral Health at the end of 2024.
I have a strong passion for preventive dentistry and patient education, believing that good oral health begins with understanding and confidence. My clinical interests include periodontal (gum) care, early detection of oral disease, and working alongside patients to develop healthy habits that support their long-term oral health.
I strive to provide gentle, personalised care in a welcoming and supportive environment, taking the time to listen to each patient's concerns and ensure they feel comfortable throughout their visit. Coming from a diverse background, I value clear communication and enjoy building trusting relationships with people from all walks of life.
I am committed to ongoing professional development and keeping up to date with the latest evidence-based approaches to oral healthcare, ensuring my patients receive the highest standard of treatment.
Outside the clinic, I enjoy spending time with family and friends and maintaining a healthy, balanced lifestyle.

I hold a degree in Computer Science and am also a qualified NZDA Chairside Assistant. In addition to my role in the dental field, I have a passion for photography, especially capturing nature and portraits.

I have been with Peninsula Dental since 2006, serving as the receptionist and administrator and assisting in the surgery when needed. I hold an NZDA Chairside Assistant certificate. Outside of work, I enjoy athletics, walking on Wellington walkways, and horse riding.
