Cosmetic Fillings
If you require a filling, you typically have two main material options: amalgam or composite resin. Both are safe and effective; the key difference lies in their appearance.
Amalgam is a traditional metal filling that appears silver or grey, while composite resin can be customised to match the shade of your natural teeth.
Composite resin can be used for bonding. Your dentist applies the material in a putty-like form to shape and contour your tooth perfectly. Once it hardens, your dentist will trim and polish it for a seamless blend with your smile.

Dr. Mwaffak Rabih has been caring for smiles in Wellington since 2001. He graduated in 1991 and made the move to New Zealand in 1999, later completing the NZDREX program at the University of Otago. He's a proud member of the New Zealand Dental Association (NZDA) and is also registered to practice in Australia (AHPRA). In 2003, he took a big step and founded Peninsula Dental Centre from the ground up.
